U11′s Challenge Cup Semi-Final A
A thoroughly windswept Tingley Athletic made welcome the first two semi-finalists for the U11′s Challenge Cup 2010, with Farsley Celtic taking on Rothwell Town.
A highly enjoyable and competitive game of football saw Town leading 2-0 at half time, taking advantage of the wind at their backs, however Celtic were not giving up that easily and fought back to 2-2, forcing the game into extra-time and more frayed nerves for anxious and excited parents on the touchline.
And it was Farsley Celtic who eventually took the honours with a goal in injury time to book their place in the finals to be held at Ossett Town’s stadium.
Both teams played extremely well and it’s always a shame for one team not to be able to get to the final at the final hurdle, but Farsley it is and good luck to them…
