During the close season, the Garforth Junior Football League, who administer junior football leagues from Under 7’s through to Under 15’s, have implemented a new electronic ID system to process player registration applications and produce over 5,000 cards for junior members of the league in time for the new season.
The ID cards are required to be checked by team managers before the commencement of each game and in previous seasons the ID cards were produced manually.
The implementation of the new system was made possible due to funding provided by local Yorkshire based companies Mitre/Prostar and Activ8 Sporting Solutions who joined forces to support the continued development of grass roots junior football within West Yorkshire whilst securing advertising rights on reverse of the ID card.
Under U15 GJFL Divisional Secretary, Roy Kearsley, said that over the close season the league had worked hard to simplify the registration process of players by providing electronic based application forms and systems which will be greatly reduce the amount of administration. The new system will make the renewal of ID cards a less labour intensive process in future seasons and thank both companies for their financial support.
