FA Touchline Manager Role

RespectBarrier_match

Rugby League has had it for a while and now the FA is following suit…The new Touchline Manager role is going to be introduced into Junior football this season, so what is it, and what does it mean?

The Touchline Manager is going to be a nominated person from a club and/or a team who will not only look after the touchline at home matches, but within their group of parents and spectators at away matches too.

Easily identifiable from wearing Hi-Vis vests, the Touchline Manager’s role is to try to ensure the FA Respect programme is followed by all parents and spectators at all junior football matches, however they are not ‘bouncers’ and nor is it within their remit to take over from the referee, but they are there to ‘remind’ us all about our own responsibilities during matchday.

We as a League will be issuing more information as we get it, but we are looking to introduce it in some of the divisions for the start of this season – keep looking in for more news!
