Give Us Back Our Game Football Workshop News

I am pleased to attach an application form for a “Give Us Back Our Game Football Workshop” which will take place outside on the synthetic pitch at Grange Sports Centre Haycliffe Lane Bradford BD5 9ET on Saturday November 14th between 9.30 am and 12.00 noon. The Workshop includes theory and practical sessions based on the Give Us Back Our Game’s ‘learning through play’ approach – covering warm ups, technique and insight as well as small sided games The Grange pitch will be split into up to eight areas. Young players aged between 6 and 11 have been identified and will be rotated to enable them to have a go at each of the structured 4 v 4 practices and games.

A £5 cost applies for each Coach/Manager. Parents can also watch free of charge. Each coach/manager attending will receive:

A pdf of the “Learning through play Book” (small sided games) and a copy of the Soccer Coaching International magazine

Chris Green, who has visited every Football Academy in the country, has written a book “Every Boy’s Dream” from his findings. He has an extensive background in the game, is also a radio commentator, and will attend on the day.

The Give Us Back Our Game Campaign encourages competitive, pressure-free football ensuring players are not left on the touchline sometimes throughout a full game or maybe brought on with a few minutes remaining.

N.B. The Campaign is not looking to replace any existing Junior League structures. It hopes to compliment them and support Clubs to cater for existing players, including those with less ability who cannot access regular football but nevertheless enjoy playing.

To access a place on November 14th, an application form should be completed and posted as soon as possible with payment to Pro-Skills. Could you please, where applicable and possible, make Junior Club coaches/managers aware of this initiative.

Thank you for your support Regards

Mick

Player Registration forms

If you require any additional player registration forms please can you ensure you send a SAE to Peter Griffiths for their return.

Don’t forget that each team received plenty at the start of the season so it’s worth asking within your cllub if one of the other managers has any forms left since very few teams have registered their maximum number of players.
