U11 Most Improved Team – 2009/2010 season – Whinmoor Juniors

Having had a poor start to the season Whinmoor Juniors seemed to find their stride and have never looked back since. Having taken a heavy defeat in the Challenge Cup to a 3rd division team they then knocked a 2nd division team out of the Supplementary Cup and almost took a second 2nd division scalp with Gildersome Spurs only managing a 1-0 victory to knock them out of the Supplementary Cup.

Since November they have only lost 3 league matches including a 3-2 result against the division winners on the final day of the season and have ended the season in 4th place.

I had the opportunity to watch one of their matches during the season and I was most impressed with the sportsmanship shown by the coaching staff, players and parents who turned out in such numbers to support their players that they could have filled a 52 seater bus !

In my humble opinion you are worthy winners of the Most Improved Team award – Congratulations to everyone involved with Whinmoor Juniors U11s – Keep up the good work !!
