Touchline Managers – Huge Success!

Here’s a quick line from one of the League’s referees regarding Respect Supervisors – we thought it might be worth sharing this with everyone…

“I would like to give praise to the Garforth League for its implementation of the Touchline Managers,

I refereed a Under 12′s fixture this past weekend between Leeds City and Ossett town in 12A League, not only were both teams and spectators very welcoming and friendly to me when i arrived, but their attitudes throughout the game allowed myself as a referee to enjoy the game but also allow the players to enjoy and compete at a high standard of football in a very positive environment.

This positive environment was without doubt created through the use of touchline managers and the RESPECT spectator barriers, and for the first time in my 6 years refereeing i was applauded off the field at the end of the game by both sets of spectators, i am also in no doubt that this positive environment allowed the players to enjoy and compete to a high standard in what was a thrilling 1-1 draw.

The programme can achieve what some thought impossible, a more positive relationship between referee and spectators, i congratulate Leeds city and Osset Town for their efforts implementing the programme.”

New Respect FC – Join the Club..!

respectCrest
Respect FC is a newly created football club with one goal – to unite everyone against the ugly side of football. Gobby morons are giving it this and that to everyone and everything, so it’s time those of us who love the beautiful game team together and stand up to them!
But we need your help because we can’t achieve this on our own. We’re asking everyone to join the club and unite against the gobby morons. And together as one, we can show the people ruining our game, what they’re up against.
You can check out our club website and chairman’s message here www.RespectFootballClub.com
For every person who joins the club, The FA will pledge to put £1 back into Respect in youth football. Visitors to www.respectfootballclub.com will then be able to vote online on how the money is used. The site also serves as a clubroom for people to pledge support, share, comment and debate on the issues surrounding Respect.
Thank you for your support – together we can defeat the gobby morons!

Respect Supervisor Programme Launched

respect-banner

A massive thanks to everyone who bothered to turn up on the 25th for the Respect Supervisor meeting – we hope this is the start of something good (once the weather allows us to start playing football again!)

On the minus side, I have to say that a number of teams/clubs did not attend or bother to offer their apologies for not attending – given that the whole point of the exercise is to further enhance the playing and officiating experience of junior players and referees, being bothered to arrange for someone else to go along and understand the initiative would/should have been the least that could have been done!

As such (and for those who didn’t get the link before), here is the presentation download

Thanks again for all those who came/arranged alternative options :-)

The meeting should last approximately 1-1/2 hours and will start at 7:30pm.
Respect Supervisor bibs will be allocated at the meeting and I will go through best practice as pioneered by the Rugby League and that which the league will be basing our programme on.
Please download your own version of the RL presentation here: Respect Supervisor Presentation
…and be sure to bring this with you to the meeting as we will be going through this on the night.
If you have any questions, please contact me via: mike@garforthleague.co.uk
Please note, Respect Supervisor is mandatory for all teams listed above this season (and will be rolled out to the entire league next season) and forms part of the FAs Respect programme. It is not optional and any team not partaking in the programme may face sanctions as listed under the FA standard Code of Conducts and part of your Charter Standard accreditation.
