I’m sure people that attended last month will have thoroughly enjoyed Chris Sulley’s coaching session regarding the role of the modern, attacking, full back. Chris allowed the players to decide how they wanted to “set the practices up” & Chris then brought in restrictions for recovering midfield players & defenders. The session demonstrated how integral & involved the full backs can be when teams are attacking in “today’s game”. Sincere thanks to Chris & well done the SWFC Academy players.
Our next guest coach is one of England’s coaching legends……Dick Bate.
Dick is one of our former England, National, Youth Coaches & he is currently in the role of F.A. Elite Coaching Director.
Dick’s theme for his coaching demonstration is – “Attacking Play In & Around The Box”. This will involve, several smaller, practices including ‘build-up play’ & finishing. These practices will be ideally suited to Grass Roots coaching so anyone keen to develop their teams ‘attacking’ will be able to pick up a number of quality coaching drills.
